Its so funny how God speaks through people in our lives. You know what the question that has been on my heart for a while now and you also know that I was certain I had my answer and then BAM! along comes a trial. Testing my faith in what He has said, I think. Funny that I just read this today when my answer is being confirmed, huh?

Thank you Corrie for reminding me to continue to draw closer to God during life's trials. To answer your question "What about you?" The answer is "Yes", in the midst of countless blessings, our family continues to face a tremendous trial that has tested my faith, caused brokeness and many tears. But, for your readers' FYI, you are exactly right to apply God's Word, lean on His promises and look for the joy around you and what has been done to bring us closer to God while we await the will of God,the outcome that He knew would be before the trial. Just like He told Peter in Luke 22 when satan had ask to sift him(a trial was coming!) "I have prayed for you that your faith not fail, but when you turn back, strengthen your brothers." Jesus knew about the denial just as He knows our failures. It's about what you do after you realize your weaknesses. The next verse in your text in James says... Perservance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.(Man,I must have been very immature and lacking alot!) The endurance, the patience is the struggle for me. The wait. It took the first few years to develop the patience to go on, let alone look for any joy. However, because of Him I am able to see the different things accomplished in this trial especially in my relationship with Jesus. I am responding to this (1 week after you wrote it) because God showed me another scripture today in my quiet time that was right on your point. The Amplified Bible says in 2Corinthians 8:2 ...For in the midst of an ordeal or severe tribulation, their abundance of joy and their depth of poverty TOGETHER have overflowed in wealth of lavish generosity on their part. Paul was speaking of almsgiving here, but I face a depth of poverty in spirit often and need to apply this word...that together with my abundance of joy (blessings galore, answered prayer,!!!!) I am overflowing in wealth (in spiritual and material things) that I need to be giving out to others. Love you, aunt nancy
